Scimplify has secured $25 million in funding to use AI against China's dominance in critical materials, while its revenue run rate has surged to $200 million as it plans U.S. expansion.
Indian startup Scimplify has closed a $25 million financing round to scale its AI‑driven production of specialty chemicals and other critical materials. The round was led by Hitachi Ventures, with Henkel joining as an investor, and will fund the expansion of the company’s AI platform and its manufacturing network into the United States and Japan.
Scimplify says its annualised revenue run‑rate has tripled to $200 million, reflecting strong demand from manufacturers seeking alternatives to Chinese‑sourced inputs. The firm’s technology uses artificial intelligence to accelerate the synthesis of high‑purity compounds that feed into semiconductors, defence systems and energy equipment, sectors where supply‑chain resilience has become a strategic priority.
The raise matters because it targets a choke point in global supply chains that has grown increasingly visible since geopolitical tensions highlighted the risks of over‑reliance on a single source. By offering a domestically producible, AI‑optimised route to critical materials, Scimplify could help diversify sourcing for a range of high‑tech industries and reduce exposure to export controls or disruptions in China.
Going forward, observers will watch how quickly Scimplify can bring new capacity online in the U.S. and Japan, and whether its model spurs similar AI‑enabled chemical ventures in other regions. The company’s ability to secure further partnerships with major manufacturers and to translate its AI platform into cost‑competitive volumes will be key indicators of whether it can meaningfully reshape the critical‑materials landscape.
