A new paper proposes Agentic Data Synthesis, expanding generation space for closed‑loop learning to create executable, verifiable synthetic experiences that enhance interactive agent training.
A new arXiv pre‑print (arXiv:2610.12593v1) introduces EvoSyn, a multi‑agent framework designed to generate synthetic training data for interactive language models in a closed‑loop fashion. The authors argue that as large language models grow more capable, their progress increasingly hinges on “synthetic experience” – data that not only can be executed and verified but also delivers genuine learning value for the target task. EvoSyn tackles this need by organizing generation around a structured, revisable synthesis space that maps controllable interaction factors. This space serves both as a diagnostic coordinate system for the learner and as a control surface that guides future data creation.
The paper highlights a persistent “feedback‑to‑decision gap” in existing approaches: while current methods incorporate environment feedback, data validation, or learner failures, they do not translate observed weaknesses into concrete changes in the synthesis process, nor can they always represent those changes within the existing generation space. EvoSyn’s learning‑feedback loop closes that gap, allowing agents to evolve the generation space itself based on performance signals.
If the framework proves effective, it could reshape how researchers and companies produce training data for agents that must act in dynamic environments, reducing reliance on costly human annotation and improving the robustness of future LLM‑driven assistants. Watch for follow‑up studies that benchmark EvoSyn against established data‑synthesis pipelines, as well as any announcements from AI labs that adopt the approach for their own closed‑loop learning systems.
