Google has opened its smart‑home platform to any third‑party AI agent. The move, announced alongside a new “Google Home Model Context Protocol” (MCP) integration, lets external assistants such as Anthropic’s Claude and the Open Claw project connect to Google‑linked lights, thermostats, cameras and other devices.
