Meta has introduced One subscription bundles that combine app subscriptions with extra AI usage, rolling them out globally after testing earlier this year.
Meta has rolled out global subscription bundles for its newly launched AI assistant, Muse, under the “Meta One” brand. The packages combine existing app subscriptions for Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp with expanded access to Meta AI tools, including higher‑volume image generation, video creation and the Restyle feature on Instagram. While the “core experience” on the three platforms and basic Meta AI remain free, users who want the premium AI capabilities must now opt into one of several tiered bundles that were tested earlier this year.
The move marks Meta’s first large‑scale effort to monetize its AI services beyond the free tier. By tying higher‑usage AI limits to paid subscriptions, the company aims to capture revenue from creators, businesses and power users who rely on generative tools for content production. Meta says the bundles will later incorporate additional features such as advanced editing, AI‑powered glasses and other services, signalling a longer‑term strategy to turn AI into a recurring income stream.
The launch follows Meta’s September‑15 announcement of Meta One, which promised “higher AI usage and enhanced expression features, plus professional tools for creators and businesses.” Today’s rollout expands that promise into concrete pricing tiers and makes the offering available worldwide.
What to watch next are the pricing details and uptake rates among both casual users and professional creators. Analysts will be keen to see whether the bundles drive subscription growth or provoke pushback over pay‑walls for AI‑driven functionality. The rollout also arrives amid ongoing U.S. legislative debates over AI regulation, raising questions about how monetisation strategies intersect with emerging policy frameworks. Future updates are expected as Meta adds the promised “Edits, AI glasses and more” to the subscription lineup.
