The filing alleges that OpenAI is withholding key evidence and actively destroying documents, including a claim that former iPhone engineer Chang Liu downloaded a confidential Apple circuit schematic and used it in his work at OpenAI. Apple also accuses a current OpenAI employee of receiving instructions from Liu to destroy the material.
OpenAI has pushed back, characterising Apple’s moves as an attempt to reshape the narrative with “vague accusations” about former staff.
