The Pentagon has added its own versions of OpenAI’s ChatGPT and xAI’s Grok to its central AI portal, joining Google’s Gemini.
The Pentagon has moved two consumer‑grade chatbots into its own secure network, adding custom‑built versions of OpenAI’s ChatGPT and xAI’s Grok to the GenAI.mil portal alongside Google’s Gemini. Branded “ChatGPT Mil” and “Grok for Government,” the tools are now available to roughly three million civilian and military users, with more than 1.7 million already onboarded, according to the department’s rollout figures.
